Day 3 Preview: Swiss Battles, Rising Stars & Doubles Drama
Get ready for another action-packed day at the Open de Sion! Day 3’s schedule is stacked with all-Swiss clashes, international showdowns, and plenty of drama—on both the singles and doubles courts. First serves are set for 11:30am, but weather conditions may delay the start to the afternoon.

On Court 1, Swiss players Luca Staeheli and Tymur Bieldugin kick things off, followed by Alexander Weis (ITA) taking on Tanguy Genier (SUI). After a well-deserved rest, doubles action heats up with Caripi/Gerch vs. Staeheli/Stepanov, and the day wraps up with Guadagno/Overmyer facing the doubles winners from earlier.

Court 2 is all about Swiss talent, too—Johan Nikles [6] faces Timofey Stepanov, then Giacomo Crisostomo (ITA) battles Damien Wenger [4]. Not before 2pm, Andrin Casanova and Nicolas Parizzia go up against Charles Barry (IRL) and Max Westphal (FRA) in more singles action, before the doubles quarterfinals close out the program.

Court 3 features Thomas Gunzinger (SUI) against Remy Bertola [2] (watch for fireworks in this one!), then Nicolo Toffanin (ITA) vs. Henry Bernet [8]. Later, Jamie Krattiger and Hugo Ouzillou take on Bertola and Nikles in a Swiss-French doubles showdown, with more doubles to follow.

Court 4 brings more international flavor: Lucas Gerch [5] (GER) faces Justin Lenders (SUI), then top seed Patrick Zahraj (GER) returns against Elias Julian Werner (GER). In the afternoon, Dimitris Sakellaridis (GRE) and Kai Wehnelt (GER) face Bieldugin/Burdet in doubles, with more quarterfinals to cap off the day.

With so many Swiss players in action and big names on court, today’s tennis promises plenty of excitement—whether you’re courtside or following from home. Keep an eye on the skies (and the tournament’s updates) for any weather delays, but one thing’s for sure: the action won’t disappoint.

Stay tuned for results, surprises, and all the latest from Sion!
