Day 5 Preview: Doubles Champions and Singles Finalists to Be Decided
We’re heading into the business end of the tournament, and Day 5 at the Open de Sion is set to deliver high drama, big moments, and a true celebration of tennis on clay.

Doubles Final – Swiss Dreams vs. Top Seeds
The day kicks off at 11:30am with the doubles final on Court 3. Swiss pair Andrin Casanova and Nicolas Parizzia have fought their way through a tough draw and now face the top-seeded duo, Dimitris Sakellaridis (GRE) and Kai Wehnelt (GER). The local team will have the crowd behind them as they look to pull off one last upset and claim the title on home soil. Expect fast exchanges, big serves, and plenty of passion from both sides.

Singles Semifinals – Only the Best Remain
It’s an all-Swiss showdown as 4th seed Damien Wenger takes on defending champion and 2nd seed Remy Bertola. Both have survived epic three-setters to reach this stage, and with a spot in the final at stake, neither will hold back. Look for long rallies, tactical play, and the kind of intensity only Swiss tennis can deliver.
Then, the top seed Patrick Zahraj (GER) faces off against 3rd seed Alexander Weis (ITA). Zahraj has been solid all week, but Weis knows how to dig deep and push his opponents to the limit. This one is set to be a battle of nerves as much as skill.

What to Watch For:
  • Will Casanova/Parizzia give the home fans a doubles trophy to celebrate?
  • Can Bertola keep his title defense alive, or will Wenger seize his moment?
  • Who will emerge from the Zahraj-Weis clash to book a place in Sunday’s singles final?
With trophies and finals on the line, the atmosphere at TC Valère will be electric. Whether you’re courtside or following through the live streaming, the AXA Open de Sion is not to be missed today!
