Day 5 Recap: Top Seeds Dominate & Swiss Semi-Final Thriller
Day 5 at the Open de Sion delivered high-level tennis and lived up to all expectations, as the singles semi-finals featured the tournament’s four top seeds—proof that the strongest players have truly asserted themselves this week.

Singles: Seeds 1 to 4 in the Semis – Quality and Consistency
The semi-finals brought together the very best:
  • Patrick Zahraj [1] (GER) faced Alexander Weis [3] (ITA) in a battle of nerves and shot-making. Zahraj took the first set convincingly, but Weis showed his resilience, fighting back to win in three sets: 3-6, 7-6(3), 7-5.
  • On the other side, the all-Swiss clash between Remy Bertola [2] and Damien Wenger [4] was a true thriller. Bertola started strong, Wenger fought back in the second, but Bertola found another gear in the third to reach the final: 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
With all four top seeds reaching the semi-finals, this year’s tournament has been a showcase of quality, consistency, and mental strength from the favorites.

Doubles: The Top Seed Prevails
In the doubles final, the top-seeded pair Dimitris Sakellaridis (GRE) / Kai Wehnelt (GER) confirmed their status, overcoming Swiss hopes Andrin Casanova / Nicolas Parizzia 6-4, 6-1 to lift the trophy. The Swiss duo had a great run, but the favorites were simply too strong in the final.
